Elena's grandfather was concerned for his friends' aging vineyards, so she decided to manage them and safeguard their precious heritage. With parcels spanning nearly 1.5 hectares graced by 70+ year-old vines, SCEG stands as a testament to the resilience and dedication of generations past. Crafted with meticulous care and a commitment to organic practices, SCEG wines reflect the rich agrarian traditions of the Vulture region. Employing the time-honored guyot training system and hand-harvesting techniques, SCEG ensures that each grape is nurtured to its fullest potential. The resulting wine, made approachable for everyday enjoyment, bears the unmistakable imprint of its volcanic terroir. SCEG means pomegranate in the local diet, symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. Fermented in steel tanks and aged in new 500-liter tonneaux, is as a medium-to-full-bodied red characterized by creamy tannins and a harmonious interplay of flavors.
