In 1922, the 20-year-old Baron Philippe de Rothschild, took the destiny of Mouton Rothschild in hand. During his reign which spanned more than 60 years, his decisions would profoundly change the world of wine, raise the image of the family chateau to unparalleled heights and considerably increase the range and geographical scope of its activities. Nearly 90 years after its birth, Mouton Cadet is the result of a history between Bordeaux wines and Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The youngest of the family and the owner of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, he was keen to bring the richness of the prestigious Bordeaux region to consumers worldwide. In 1988, following the death of her father, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild pursued the work and philosophy of Baron Philippe: to make a great Mouton Cadet Bordeaux wine accessible to a wider worldwide audience. Philippe Sereys de Rothschild succeeded his mother as Chair of the Supervisory Board in September 2014 then became Chairman and CEO of the family company in April 2018.
