The Philipponnat family have been winegrowers in Champagne since 1522, when they first acquired land in Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay. Their legacy includes the iconic Clos des Goisses, purchased in 1935 and home to Champagne's first single-vineyard cuvee. Yet this rich heritage is a foundation for progress, not a constraint. Today 15th generation Charles Philipponnat leads the House elevating its reputation for the finest Pinot Noir-driven Champagnes known for their elegance and intensity. The winery was an early adopter of organic and sustainable practices and certifications in the region. The philosophy for non-vintage cuvees is to blend the freshness of the new harvest with the layered complexity of a perpetual reserve dating to 1946. Using a terroir-focused approach, centuries of expertise and incorporating modern technologies, Philipponnat is in perpetual motion, crafting a range of extraordinary champagnes.
